The Blue Barn

The Blue Barn is Blue Plate Restaurant Company's fair-only restaurant, open just the twelve days of the Minnesota State Fair. Its menu is twists on Minnesota classics and fair adaptations of best sellers from the group's restaurants, paired with beer from their own Freehouse brewery and other local brewers. It sits behind the west side of the Skyride on Dan Patch Avenue.

The 2026 Minnesota State Fair ended on Monday, September 7, 2026. Everything below describes the 2026 fair, which is the most recent one I hold — stands, buildings and rides carry over year to year, but dates, prices and schedules do not. I update it when the fair publishes for 2027. The 2027 fair runs August 26 – September 6, 2027 — 293 days away.

  • Pink Sour Burst New Inspired by a classic pink chewy candy, this tart, fruit-forward sour ale is bursting with sugary strawberry flavor. Juicy and refreshingly tangy, it's a playful twist on a nostalgic favorite. 4.8% ABV. Brewed in Minneapolis, Minn., by Pryes Brewing Company.
  • Espressotini Frozen Seltzer New An espresso martini-inspired frozen seltzer with bold flavors of coffee and vanilla. Topped with creamy cold foam. 5% ABV. Made in Minneapolis, Minn., by Pryes Brewing Company.
  • Strawberry Guava Agua Fresca Cider New This cider is loaded with flavors of juicy strawberry and pink guava. Finished with a squeeze of fresh lime, a hint of sea salt and subtle notes of hibiscus. 4.5% ABV. Brewed in Duluth, Minn., by Wild State Cider.
