MN Fair Guide
Terms of Service
Last updated July 12, 2026.
The short version: MN Fair Guide is a free, independent, unofficial guide to the Minnesota State Fair. Use it to find your way around, be decent to others, and double-check anything important against the official fair. These terms spell out the rest.
1. Who we are
“MN Fair Guide,” “we,” or “us” refers to the independent maker of the MN Fair Guide mobile app, this website, and the vendor portal (together, the “Service”). By using the Service you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use it.
2. Independent & unofficial
MN Fair Guide is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the Minnesota State Agricultural Society or the Minnesota State Fair. We are an independent third party. For tickets, official hours, rules, and announcements, always refer to mnstatefair.org. Names, marks, and schedules referenced in the Service belong to their respective owners and are used to help you find real places and events.
3. The information is a guide, not gospel
We work hard to keep the map, listings, menus, prices, and schedules accurate, and we cite our sources. But things change fast during the fair, and some information comes from the fair, its vendors, and other third parties. We provide the Service “as is,” without any warranty that it is complete, accurate, or up to date. Don’t rely on it for decisions where being wrong would really cost you — verify times, closures, prices, and accessibility details with the official source or the vendor directly.
4. Using the Service
The app is free for fairgoers — no account required. When you use it, you agree not to:
- break the law, or use the Service to harm, harass, or defraud anyone;
- scrape, overload, probe, or interfere with the Service or its infrastructure, or try to bypass rate limits or security;
- misrepresent yourself, or claim a vendor booth you don’t actually operate; or
- upload content that is unlawful, infringing, misleading, or that you don’t have the right to share.
5. Vendor accounts & listings
If you claim a booth, you’re telling us you’re authorized to represent that business. You’re responsible for your account, keeping your login secure, and the accuracy of what you publish — your pin, photos, menu, and tags. Keep your content honest and lawful, and only upload images and text you have the rights to. We may verify claims, and we may edit, hide, or remove a listing (or suspend an account) that appears inaccurate, abusive, impersonating, or in breach of these terms. You can stop using the portal at any time.
6. Featured placements
Vendors may optionally purchase a clearly-labeled “Featured” placement. It’s a first-party promotion — it never tracks fairgoers. Pricing and duration are shown at checkout. A Featured placement buys visibility (a badge and priority placement for the stated period); it does not guarantee any particular result, click volume, or sales. If we can’t deliver a placement you paid for, we’ll make it right. Contact us about billing questions.
7. Your content
You keep ownership of the content you submit (like your booth’s photos and menu). By submitting it, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, display, and distribute it within the Service for the purpose of running MN Fair Guide and showing your listing to fairgoers. You can remove your content by editing your listing or contacting us.
8. Our content
The app, website, design, and our original compilation of fair data are protected by intellectual-property laws. You may use the Service for your personal, non-commercial fair-going, and vendors may use the portal to manage their own listing. Please don’t copy, resell, or bulk-extract our data or design without permission.
9. Third-party services
The Service links to and uses third parties — maps (OpenStreetMap, Esri), weather (the National Weather Service), news outlets, the App Store and Google Play, and the official fair site. We don’t control those services and aren’t responsible for them; your use of them is governed by their own terms and privacy policies.
10. Disclaimers & limitation of liability
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, to the fullest extent allowed by law. We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, or for anything that happens at the fair itself. To the extent any liability can’t be disclaimed, it is limited to the amount you paid us (if any) in the twelve months before the claim. Some jurisdictions don’t allow certain limitations, so parts of this may not apply to you.
11. Changes
We may update these terms as the Service evolves. When we do, we’ll change the “last updated” date above. If you keep using the Service after a change, you’re accepting the updated terms.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Minnesota, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any disputes will be handled in the state or federal courts located in Minnesota.
