STAND · MINNESOTA STATE FAIR

Afro Deli & Grill

Afro Deli is a Twin Cities fast-casual restaurant and social enterprise serving a fusion of African, Mediterranean and American food, all made fresh and halal, founded by owner Abdirahman Kahin. At the 2026 Minnesota State Fair it brings its beef and veggie sambusas with Somali basbaas dipping sauce, caramelized sweet plantains, Somali spiced tea served hot or iced, and fresh mango juice. Its 2026 new food is Afro Bean Pops: fried peri-peri chicken with mini beef sambusas and fried plantains.

The 2026 Minnesota State Fair ended on Monday, September 7, 2026. Everything below describes the 2026 fair, which is the most recent one I hold — stands, buildings and rides carry over year to year, but dates, prices and schedules do not. I update it when the fair publishes for 2027. The 2027 fair runs August 26 – September 6, 2027 — 293 days away.
