Watch baby calves, lambs, goats, and piglets being born live during the fair. The center is staffed by University of Minnesota veterinary students and FFA members who explain what's happening and answer questions. Multiple animals give birth each day — some days you might witness a calf being born; other days it might be piglets or lambs. Completely free. Open daily 9 AM–9 PM. Open 9 AM–9 PM daily, but only 9 AM–3 PM on Labor Day — five hours before the grounds close.

The 2026 Minnesota State Fair ended on Monday, September 7, 2026. Everything below describes the 2026 fair, which is the most recent one I hold — stands, buildings and rides carry over year to year, but dates, prices and schedules do not. I update it when the fair publishes for 2027. The 2027 fair runs August 26 – September 6, 2027 — 293 days away.
